Find below some of the most common questions that we are asked.
I don’t have a credit card. Can I rent a car?
Whilst most of our suppliers will only accept credit card payment, several will accept payment by debit card:
- Goldcar will accept payment by major debit card (e.g. Visa Debit) as long as their additional ‘Relax’ cover is taken out.
- Automotive Cars will also officially accept debit card payment, but only for their compact vehicles (groups A, A1 and B). A 300 euros deposit is required for this means of payment.
As payment conditions vary from time to time, we ask clients who do need to use a debit card to consult with us prior to booking.
Is it possible to pick up a car at one airport and deliver it back to another?
This depends on the car rental company that you hire with. With most of our suppliers one-way car rental is possible. An additional one-way charge will normally apply, though several companies waive the one-way charge if the hire period is over a certain length. We include details of one-way options and charges on our quote page and the drop off location can be chosen on the booking form page.
I’m moving to Spain and I need to rent a car for at least a month. Can you offer a discount for a long rental period?
Yes, we can usually offer a discount for hire periods of three weeks or longer. Please contact us for a quote.
How do I cancel my booking?
In order to cancel a booking, just send us an e-mail. There is no charge for cancellation and we can cancel at any time before the booking is due to commence. Of course, we do ask clients to let us know as soon as possible so that the vehicle can be freed up for another client.
Can I return the vehicle with a full tank of petrol for a refund of the fuel charge?
This will depend on the length of the hire period and the car rental company that you hire with. Most of our suppliers only allow full-full for short hire periods (up to and including 3 days). For longer periods you will normally be expected to return the car without refilling (as empty as possible) as no refund will be offered for the fuel remaining. At present, Automotive Cars offer full-full fuel for hire periods of up to and including 6 days.
I have noticed that the price on your website has dropped since I booked. Can I have the car at the current, cheaper price?
Very often our suppliers will make changes to their rates and the prices on our website will vary accordingly. If you do notice that the price has dropped, we’ll be happy to confirm a new booking for you at the improved price, vehicle availability permitting. Please note that we are unable to modify the price of an existing booking.
Can you deliver a vehicle to my accommodation?
Generally, our suppliers are unable to make local deliveries. Occasionally it is possible to arrange delivery from local offices. Delivery to accommodation from airport offices is never possible.
I may need to extend my hire when I am in Spain. How do I go about doing this?
If you do need to extend the length of your hire after having picked up the vehicle, send us an e-mail. We will arrange the extension with our supplier (availability permitting) and let you know how much is due to be paid. You will need to go into the car rental company’s office to sign and pay for the extension. It is important that you have the updated rental contract in the vehicle.
